Crochet Pattern
For this flower, you will need: white, yellow, and green yarn, and a crochet hook suitable for your yarn weight.
- A side cutter
- Hot glue
- Fiberfill
- Green floral wire, 0.35 mm
- Green stem wire, 0.8 mm thick
- Green floral tape
Flower Center (Colors Yellow and Green)
Work in rounds with single crochet (sc). Close each round with a slip stitch (sl st).
With Yellow
Round 1: Chain 2
Round 2: Work 6 sc in the second chain from the hook, and join with a sl st. (6)
Round 3: Double each sc. (12)
Round 4: Double every 2nd sc. (18)
Rounds 5-6: Work 18 sc in each round. (18)
Switch to Green
Round 7: Work 2 sc together every 2nd and 3rd stitch. (12)
Round 8: Work 2 sc together all around. Fasten off, leaving a tail of about 10 cm.
Fill the flower center with a bit of fiberfill and sew it shut with the tail.
Petals (Color White)
Work in rows; each row begins with a turning chain.
Attach yarn to round 6 of the flower center and work as follows:
Row 1: Chain 8 and 2 chains (counts as a half double crochet, hdc). In the 3rd chain from the hook, work 2 hdc, 2 hdc, 3 double crochet (dc), 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st in the next stitch of the flower center. Repeat around the edge. This makes 16-17 petals.
Leaves (Make 2, Color Green)
Work in rows; each row begins with a turning chain.
Row 1: Chain 2
Row 2: Work 2 sc in the starting chain.
Row 3: Work 2 sc.
Row 4: Double each sc. (4)
Row 5: Work 4 sc. (4)
Rows 6-10: Work 4 sc in each row. (4)
Row 11: Double the first and last stitch. (6)
Row 12-15: Work 6 sc in each row. (6)
Row 16: Work 2 sc together in the first 2 and last 2 stitches. (4)
Row 17: Work 2 sc together all around. (2)
Rows 18-20: Work 2 sc in each row. (2)
Now, lay a 15 cm piece of green floral wire along the outer edge of the leaf. Crochet around the leaf with sc, enclosing the wire as you go. At the tip of the leaf, work 3 sc into one stitch. Once the leaf is completely edged, fasten off, leaving a 10 cm tail.
Twist the wire ends together and trim to about 5 cm with the side cutter. Weave in the tail.
Finishing
Insert a green stem wire into the bottom of the flower center and secure with hot glue. Wrap the entire stem wire tightly with floral tape. Then, place the leaf wires against the stem at the desired height, twist the wires around the stem, and wrap tightly with floral tape. Secure the end with a bit of hot glue
