Crochet Pattern

For this flower, you will need: white, yellow, and green yarn, and a crochet hook suitable for your yarn weight.

  • A side cutter
  • Hot glue
  • Fiberfill
  • Green floral wire, 0.35 mm
  • Green stem wire, 0.8 mm thick
  • Green floral tape

Flower Center (Colors Yellow and Green)

Work in rounds with single crochet (sc). Close each round with a slip stitch (sl st).

With Yellow

Round 1: Chain 2

Round 2: Work 6 sc in the second chain from the hook, and join with a sl st. (6)

Round 3: Double each sc. (12)

Round 4: Double every 2nd sc. (18)

Rounds 5-6: Work 18 sc in each round. (18)

Switch to Green

Round 7: Work 2 sc together every 2nd and 3rd stitch. (12)

Round 8: Work 2 sc together all around. Fasten off, leaving a tail of about 10 cm.

Fill the flower center with a bit of fiberfill and sew it shut with the tail.

Petals (Color White)

Work in rows; each row begins with a turning chain.

Attach yarn to round 6 of the flower center and work as follows:

Row 1: Chain 8 and 2 chains (counts as a half double crochet, hdc). In the 3rd chain from the hook, work 2 hdc, 2 hdc, 3 double crochet (dc), 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st in the next stitch of the flower center. Repeat around the edge. This makes 16-17 petals.

Leaves (Make 2, Color Green)

Work in rows; each row begins with a turning chain.

Row 1: Chain 2

Row 2: Work 2 sc in the starting chain.

Row 3: Work 2 sc.

Row 4: Double each sc. (4)

Row 5: Work 4 sc. (4)

Rows 6-10: Work 4 sc in each row. (4)

Row 11: Double the first and last stitch. (6)

Row 12-15: Work 6 sc in each row. (6)

Row 16: Work 2 sc together in the first 2 and last 2 stitches. (4)

Row 17: Work 2 sc together all around. (2)

Rows 18-20: Work 2 sc in each row. (2)

Now, lay a 15 cm piece of green floral wire along the outer edge of the leaf. Crochet around the leaf with sc, enclosing the wire as you go. At the tip of the leaf, work 3 sc into one stitch. Once the leaf is completely edged, fasten off, leaving a 10 cm tail.

Twist the wire ends together and trim to about 5 cm with the side cutter. Weave in the tail.

Finishing

Insert a green stem wire into the bottom of the flower center and secure with hot glue. Wrap the entire stem wire tightly with floral tape. Then, place the leaf wires against the stem at the desired height, twist the wires around the stem, and wrap tightly with floral tape. Secure the end with a bit of hot glue

Rows 4-6:

  • Crochet 6 sc each row (6)

Row 7:

  • Crochet the first and last 2 stitches together (4)

Rows 8-15:

  • Crochet 4 sc each row (4)

Row 16:

  • Crochet 2 sc together (2)

Row 17:

  • Crochet 2 sc (2)

Now, place a 35 cm piece of silver or gold floral wire along the outer edge of the petal. Crochet around the petal in the same or a different shade of blue, incorporating the wire:

  • Crochet around the petal with sc up to the first marker. From there, crochet 3 half double crochets (hdc) in each stitch until the next marker, then continue with sc.
  • After finishing, cut the thread with about 10 cm extra. Twist the wire ends together.
  • Sew in the yarn end.

Yellow Strip 3x

With yellow yarn:

  • Chain 14 and 2 chains as a substitute for 2 hdc
  • In the 3rd chain from the hook, crochet (1 hdc + 1 chain + 2 hdc)
  • Then crochet 1 sc in each subsequent chain.
  • Finish, cut the yarn, and sew in the end.

Calyx

Crochet the calyx with sc in rounds, closing each round with a slip stitch.

Finish, cut the yarn, and sew in the end.

Leaf

Crochet with sc in rows, ending each row with a turning chain.

Chain 1 and make a turning chain.

Row 1:

  • Crochet 2 sc in the starting chain.

Row 2:

  • Crochet 2 sc (2)

Row 3:

  • Double each sc (4)

Rows 4-45:

  • Crochet 4 sc each row (4)

Place a 55 cm piece of green floral wire along the outer edge of the leaf and crochet around the leaf with sc, incorporating the wire. At the tip of the leaf, crochet 3 sc in one stitch.

  • Finish, cut the yarn, and sew in the end.
  • Twist the wire ends together.

Finishing

  • Sew one yellow strip onto each of the 3 petals (see photo).
  • Trim all wire stems to about 5 cm with wire cutters.
  • Arrange the 3 petals without strips into a triangle and twist the wire ends together.
  • Then arrange the 3 petals with strips around the first 3 petals and twist the wire ends together.
  • Place the stem wire at the bottom of the flower and twist it with the wire ends of the petals. Secure with a bit of hot glue. Slide the calyx over the stem wire up to the petals.
    • ATTENTION: Add a drop of hot glue inside the calyx beforehand.
  • Twist all wire ends tightly together and wrap them densely with floral tape. Secure with a bit of hot glue.
  • Place the leaf against the stem and twist the wire slightly with the stem. Wrap tightly with floral tape and secure with a drop of hot glue.
  • Shape the petals as desired

Twist the wire ends together. Trim to 5 cm.

Top Green Bud

Crochet the bud in rounds with sc. Close each round with a sl st.

  1. With green yarn, chain 2.
  2. Round 1: 4 sc in the second chain from the hook, join with sl st. (4)
  3. Round 2: Increase in each sc. (8)
  4. Round 3: 8 sc. (8)
  5. Round 4: Increase in every 2nd sc. (12)

Finish and cut the yarn, leaving a 10 cm tail.

Final Assembly

Fill the bud with fiberfill until it feels firm.

Insert a stem wire into the bud. Close the bottom of the bud with the tail yarn.

Strengthen the stem wire with a matching length of aluminum wire and wrap both together tightly with floral tape starting from the bud.

Starting from the top, attach the slightly opened buds and green leaves in your preferred order, followed by the fully opened flowers, wrapping each wire end tightly with floral tape

Using Color A, crochet 3 chains (counts as the 1st double crochet (dc)) and 19 double crochets. Close this round with a slip stitch into the 1st double crochet.

Round 2

Attach Color B to any double crochet and crochet 9 chains for the petal. Skip 1 chain and crochet 1 single crochet (sc) and 7 double crochets back, then crochet 1 single crochet into the next double crochet of the previous round. Repeat this pattern 19 times.
