Pullover with Half-Length ( eng )

Pullover with Half-Length

Unique Pattern for a Half-Length Sleeve Pullover

Welcome to my blog! Today, I want to share a very special pattern for a beautiful knitted pullover with half-length sleeves. This pullover is knitted in one piece from bottom to top and then from top to bottom. Perfect for knitting enthusiasts looking for a unique project!

Materials You'll Need:

  • Yarn Weight and Material: The choice of yarn material and weight is up to you.
  • Knitting Needles: Choose suitable knitting needles based on your selected yarn and personal knitting tension.
  • Measuring Tape: An essential tool to ensure your pullover fits perfectly.
  • Prym Stitch Gauge: A handy tool to measure your gauge swatch accurately and adjust your measurements.

Pattern Instructions:

Gauge Swatch: Before starting the actual knitting, knit a gauge swatch with your chosen yarn and needle size. Measure the stitches and rows per 10 cm using the Prym stitch gauge. Note these values, as they are crucial for the fit of your pullover.

Tips for a Perfect Result:

  • Always maintain an even tension to achieve a consistent stitch pattern.
  • Try on the pullover regularly during knitting to ensure it fits well.
  • Use high-quality yarn that is comfortable on the skin and durable.

Gauge:

  • 20 stitches and 20 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm
  • 20 stitches and 26 rows for the pattern = 10 x 10 cm
  • Use a circular needle to handle the large number of stitches.

Pattern:

  • Number of stitches should be divisible by 2 plus 3.
  1. Row 1: (Wrong side) Slip 1 stitch, knit to the end.
  2. Row 2: (Right side) Slip 1 stitch, knit to the end.
  3. Row 3: Slip 1 stitch, knit 1, purl 1, yarn over, purl 2 together, repeat from * to the last 2 stitches, purl 1, knit 1.
  4. Row 4: Slip 1 stitch, knit to the end.

Repeat these 4 rows for the pattern.

Note:

This pullover is knitted in one piece, starting at the bottom front edge up to the shoulder, then from the shoulder down to the bottom back edge.

  • The first stitch in each row is always slipped. The last stitch in each row is always knitted.

Instructions:

  • Cast on the calculated number of stitches (for your yarn, needle size, and your size).
  1. Row 1: Slip 1 stitch, purl to the last stitch, knit 1.
  2. Row 2: Slip 1 stitch, knit to the last stitch, knit 1.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have knitted about 6 cm.

Then, knit every row:

  • Slip 1 stitch, knit to the last stitch.

Alternate until you reach the armhole height (approximately 43 cm).

Now, increase stitches on both sides for 23 cm.

Continue knitting in pattern until the neckline:

  • After approximately 23 cm in pattern, decrease 32 cm for the neckline.
  • On the wrong side, increase these 32 cm again.

Knit in pattern for another 23 cm and knit the sleeves.

Continue as at the beginning:

Ensure that the sections knitted in stockinette stitch on the back match the front.

If you like, you can add a crocheted edge at the bottom and crochet the bottom edge with crab stitches.

Sew together and you're done.
